Hello my fellow tumblrs. I haven’t posted any legit text posts for a cooooo minute.
Nothing really new on my end, besides the fact that I’ve finally put the fire under my ass & started college, this spring semester will be my 2nd semester total (not including the math class I took over the summer of 2011). Idk if I’ve mentioned this before but I’ve been undecided about what direction to take exactly in terms of college majors & I still am. Which kind of sucks, because it’d be so much easier if I knew what I wanted to do then started taking steps towards that goal. People keep telling me I have a lot of time anyway, but eventually a lot of time turns into wasted time.
Things at home have been getting better, my mom & I argue less & my dad is still pretty much the same, I honestly believe due to my parents getting older. Also because I’ve been making a lot of wiser choices for myself. My boyfriend & I still live together at my parents’, he’s still sweet as can be & always so supportive. Our 5th year anniversary is actually this year in June. (: I still can’t believe it’s been that long sometimes..My siblings are still doing well, three of my siblings still live in socal together. My brother lives at home with my parents & I as well, & my other brother has been living in Aussie for the past 3 years now. He’s pretty much started a whole new life there for himself. New friends, a well paying new job, new girlfriend turned into baby mama, (: yup, I’m an aunt all over again! His name is, Evan Luu, I’m so happy, he is just the most adorable baby ever & I can’t wait to meet the little guy in person.

I blog a lot about other places in the world I find more interesting or where I would like to live instead of where I am now. But rarely do I get to say that my HOMETOWN, the place where I was BORN, is on a very cool list put out by a very cool newspaper! Yes the top 45 places to go (in the whole world) in 2012 by the New York Times and my lovely Oakland got NUMBER 5! My reaction at first was to say “wait what? really here of all the places in the world….” It’s not that I don’t think Oakland is amazing, because I freaking love it, but I have never thought of it as a place I would recommend as a tourist destination. Well to put it delicately, It’s kind of always been very “locals only”. However with all the bad press it’s been getting (especially this year) I have decided it is fucking cool that it got placed on this list!! There are many reasons why you should visit Oakland. Mostly because if you thought it was the land of gang shootouts, riot protests, and general scary grittiness (well it can be) there is a whole new world waiting for you! Oakland is cool and for as long as I can remember it’s been a mecca for cool people, food, bands, bars, parks, etc. So if your looking to take a Foodie Vacation, a Hipster Getaway, or anything else fun try Oakland!
I should say it’s not for the faint of heart, but I already sound too much like an infomercial……sorry for the plugging but it had to be done!
